Parenting after a Loss

4-6mo old's favorite toys

What is (or was) your 4-6 month old's favorite toy(s)?  We have bigger things, like the swing and jumperoo, but seem to be terribly lacking in smaller toys to play WITH rather than play IN.  I'd love to know what your kids like so that we can buy A a few new toys!

Re: 4-6mo old's favorite toys

  • Emma LOVES Sophie the giraffe, she also likes rattles, teethers, stuffed animals, her stacker with rings on it, mirrors, I have the leapfrog catepillar ( https://www.leapfrog.com/en/infant_and_toddler/babypal.html) the catepillar keeps her entertained during tummy time.

  • You know.. its hard at this age since she doesn't really sit yet..and her grasping objects is still just so-so.. she still predominantly plays in the big toys like the exersaucer and jumperoo and bouncy seat..

However.. the few small toys she seems to like are

    The Winkel

    Sophie the Giraffe

This guy.. We actually have a pink cat one.. not the bunny, there are other animals too.

And we just got this the other day whenwe went toy-testing..

I totally LOL when I saw "winkle" and thought something very dirty Embarrassed

  • Thanks girls, I just went to Amazon and added these things to my baby registry so that I can remember which ones you've recommended.  Aidan's going to be a happy little guy thanks to you!

  • We have a catipillar by Gund that she LOVES.  It crinkles and squeaks and she can wrap her arms around it pretty easily.  She also loves crinkle books.  I bought her a penguin from walmart that makes noise when you push it (kind of like one of those toys you punch and it keeps popping up only much smaller), and she loves to try and make eye contact with it.  Sassy toys can be kind of unoriginal, but she likes them.  I'm thinking about buying her a Sophie because her teethers are hard for her to hold and chew really well at the same time.
  • hadley also really likes burp cloths.  her favorite toy is this ball, which i found at target in the regular toy section.

  • Taylor is also a burp cloth girl, she just loves them and I give her one every morning on the way to day care. I ordered "sophie" just yesterday so I am hoping she like her. She also likes stuffed animals that have limbs small enough for her to get in her mouth, she likes to chew on soft stuff.
  • My girl also loves burp cloths, and she also likes her Whoozit, and a little stuffed bunny.  She also has a dolly that has "crinkle" skirt that she likes. But hands down she loves to fiddle around with burp cloths - especially the Gerber ones - she looks at the baby on the tag. :)
  • Natalie loves burp cloths too - and wash cloths, those are a little easier for her to manage but she likes to fling them around and chew on them.  She loves Sophie and her Whoozit too.  She "plays" with other things like rattles, etc but I bet that girl would play with a wash cloth or burp cloth all day long!  LOL  We do have some teething toys that go in the freezer and she likes those too.
