We are going to start giving Ben & Kate meat and other table foods. I was thinking about doing some of the Boca products does anyone give those to your lo?
I am also planning on steaming some chicken/fish in my steamer.
What types of meat do you feed your lo?
Any other table food suggestions besides the obvious ones?
Thanks!
Who knew table food was so complex?
Re: Meat & Table Food ?
At that age, he liked fish a lot, I think because it was easy to eat. Also ground turkey, as long as it wasn't grilled and crusty, but soft, like for spaghetti or something. Chicken if I cut it up very small. For proteins, also yogurt, eggs, beans. Oliver loves beans!
When we started table food, I'd just experiment with what we were eating at any particular meal, but usually have a "back up" tupperware of mac n cheese or something in case he didn't like what we were eating. He liked everything we gave him! If we were having something spicy or hard to eat like steak, then I'd just make sure we had something else he could eat.
Have fun with it! When in doubt, just cut it up small!
M loves white fish, chicken dipped in ketchup, chopped meat. She's iffy on steak, but loves a good burger.
We feed M everything. Even if it's just a taste. Veggies I peel before steaming or roasting them and then cut everything up into cheerio sized pieces.
Awwwwwww
is it wrong that I just give Avery cooked bits of meat? Last night I made sweet and sour chicken and she had a small cube of it. She is able to chew really well.
She also likes taco meat (I usually season it myself with very little salt but I leave the spices for her). And she loved salmon! and fish sticks (not the outside of it though)
The thought of pureeing meat made ME gag a little
We tried meat a couple weeks ago (chicken, etc) but at that time he wouldn't eat it because of the diffferent texture (I think). So I tried tofu at the suggestion of a girl in my moms group and he likes that. I get the extra firm so I can just give him it in small pieces or mix it up in veggies. We also tried chicken again this week and he seemed to like it better. I'm looking for different things to give him though, so maybe this post will help!
I don't think so, thats what I do now because I don't think Logan liked it pureed (plus I think it was gross too!)
I poached and pureed chicken for M once. It was kind of weird and he would only eat it if we mixed it with a veggie.
Now, he's eating little bits of cooked chicken and steak and we also give him cubes of tofu. He's not so big on the steak but loves tofu. I'll also give him some plain steamed veggies on his high chair tray. For the most part, he is eating what we eat.
Oh and he LOVES ravioli.
