This list is taken from a really stupid blog on how to have twins. My answers/experiences are in bold.
1. Morning sickness at five weeks was very severe and intense (intense migraines, multiple times daily for 3 weeks straight) Okay my m/s sucked ass but so did my friend's who was having one baby.
2. Migraines starting at 5 weeks and lasting 3 weeks straight (1-2 times per day)-nope, no migraines at all
3. Extremely tender breasts-nope
3. Extremely Tired-what does this mean anyway? it is this just subjective?
5. Exhausted-Hmmm isnt this the same as tired?
6. Constantly hungry-I am always hungry, that explains my fat a$$
7. Last but not least....I had a stong gut feeling I was carrying two babies-Nope, I thought I was having one boy
And few more symptoms that may indicate twins/multiples:
1. Weight gain earlier in pregnancy-Nope
2. Feeling movement earlier than expected-Nope
3.
Family history of twins-Yes and I also took clomid. OB never suspected twins!
I am calling this blog out because I want people to understand that each pregnancy is different and just because you may be having multiples, doesnt mean you will display all of these "sign" if any at all. My OB had no clue. I found out at the big U/S.
Re: PSA-I did NOT have the following symptoms when pregnant
1. Morning sickness at five weeks was very severe and intense (intense migraines, multiple times daily for 3 weeks straight)
I HAD SEVERE MORNING SICKNESS W/ MY SINGLETON SON STARTING AT 5 WEEKS
2. Migraines starting at 5 weeks and lasting 3 weeks straight (1-2 times per day)
A TRUE MIGRAINE DOESNT COME AND GO 1-2 TIMES A DAY...TAKE IT FROM SOMEONE WHO HAS HAD MIGRAINES SINCE THE AGE OF 8...THEY TYPICALLY LAST FOR HOURS ON END...AND IF IT TRULY WAS 3 WEEKS LONG OF A REAL MIGRAINE I SUSPECT YOU WOULD HAVE SEEN THE DR
3. Extremely tender breasts
NOT A SIGN OF TWINS....JUST A SIGN OF PREGNANCY
3. Extremely Tired
NOT A SIGN OF TWINS....JUST A SIGN OF PREGNANCY
5. Exhausted
SAME THING AS YOUR "EXTREMELY TIRED"
6. Constantly hungry
NOT A SIGN OF TWINS....JUST A SIGN OF PREGNANCY
7. Last but not least....I had a stong gut feeling I was carrying two babies
SO YOU MEAN TO TELL ME THAT HAVING A STRONG GUT FEELING MEANS YOU HAD MORE THAN ONE IN THERE? HOLY CRAP- THEN I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO...BECAUSE I DIDNT BELEIVE I WAS HAVING TWINS...SHOULD I GIVE ONE BACK?
And few more symptoms that may indicate twins/multiples:
1. Weight gain earlier in pregnancy
2. Feeling movement earlier than expected
NOT A SIGN OF TWINS! FEELING MOVEMENT EARLIER THAN EXPECTED JUST MEANS YOU ARE IMAGINING THINGS- FETAL MOVEMENT ISNT FOUND UNTIL THE SECOND TRI- SOMETIMES IN THE 12TH WEEK
3. Family history of twins
YOU ARE CORRECT ON THIS ONE THING
Don't believe their lies! I have special yams I can sell you. And this really nice bridge...
I'm still pregnant but I'd like to add my personal experice thus far as well
1. Morning sickness at five weeks was very severe and intense: I have ZERO m/s. I literally have never thrown up.
2. Migraines starting at 5 weeks and lasting 3 weeks straight (1-2 times per day)- I've had no migranes
3. Extremely tender breasts-YES, but so did my friends and family who had one baby
3. Extremely Tired-YES in the first tri. Feel better now that I'm in the second tri
5. Exhausted-How is this different than being tired? and Yes this is true for me
6. Constantly hungry-Sometimes yes and sometimes no. Sometimes I feel I don't eat enough
7. Last but not least....I had a stong gut feeling I was carrying two babies-No way, I thought I had one girl in there. My OB didn't know either and we only heard one heartbeat on the doppler at 8 weeks (we weren't looking for two) and didn't find out until our u/s at 12 weeks.
And few more symptoms that may indicate twins/multiples:
1. Weight gain earlier in pregnancy-No, I am not even sure I've gained enough yet
2. Feeling movement earlier than expected- I've felt nothing yet
3. Family history of twins- My half sister (same father different mother) has fraternal twins and fraternal twins run in my husbands side. From what I understand none of these things played a role in our identical twins and that fraternal twins is something that runs in your mothers side you may have a higher chance due to hyper-ovulation. Since we had one egg that split, that is not our case.
BWWAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Screw the special yams, I have some leftover fertility drugs I can sell ya.
I thought I'd throw in my response too as I didn't even think I was pregnant! This time is def diff than when I had DD--sx are less severe for some odd reason. In fact, once I did find out I was PG I was convinced something was wrong cuz this feels so different from when I was pg w/DD.
1. Morning sickness at five weeks was very severe and intense (intense migraines, multiple times daily for 3 weeks straight) Nope, in fact my m/s is a lot better this time around. I'm queasy but have only run to the bathroom 1x and then it was dry-heaving (sorry if TMI); with DD I was throwing up before I was 5 wks pg.
6. Constantly hungry-I actually have no appetite; same that happened w/DD
7. Last but not least....I had a stong gut feeling I was carrying two babies-Nope, I thought I wasn't even pg
And few more symptoms that may indicate twins/multiples:
1. Weight gain earlier in pregnancy-Nope
2. Feeling movement earlier than expected-Nope
3. Family history of twins-Yes but I was on Gonal-F as well.
