Opening up a day care in the Bronx

My sister operates a day care out of her home and wants to expand her business.  I own my home and she thought it would be great to convert the 1st floor apartment into a day care (i own a 2 family house).

Concerns...

1) there is a home Based day care around the corner

2) how do i get started with getting clients

 

My sister lives in Riverdale near the subway, I live in Throggs Neck near the schools and bus.

I'm in the Bronx and the babysitter I had lined up for 3 months now has just been hospitalized! I just returned to work last week, and my husband is on 3 weeks paternity leave until the first week of October.  Where is your sister's day care located? Info please!

Have you tried metrodaycare.com?

 I found my sitter there 7 years ago.  She was great.  I guess pick a couple in areas you like, and start the interviewing process.  I will be revisiting this site myself in a while.
