Hey all,
I just did my 1st session and this study is totally legit. You get compensated $190 total for the whole study, but they pay you for each session individually. They can work with you on dates and times too, so if you work full time it's really helpful.
Just forwarding the info:
UCI's Department of Psychology and Social Behavior is seeking pregnant
women for a research study. You are eligible to participate if you are:
1) 18 years or older
2) English speaking
3) less than 15 weeks pregnant
4) if you or someone in your immediate family has a history of anxiety
or depression but you are currently not suffering from depression
This study will help us understand whether hormonal changes during
pregnancy can be used to predict if a woman will develop postpartum
blues or postpartum depression after delivery. By participating, you
will support our work which is targeted at developing strategies to
reduce the incidence of mood disorders after delivery.
Participants will complete 3 sessions and will be compensated up to $190 for their time. There are three sessions, which will be conducted around 15 weeks pregnancy, 25 weeks of pregnancy, and again 2 months after delivery. Visits will include interviews and questionnaires, standardized behavioral and cognitive tasks, and blood and saliva collection. Overall, this study will take about 9 hours of your time. Further detail regarding each session will be provided prior to enrollment in the study.
