Library Theme

I need some help! I want to do a library theme and I have the bedding but I need some help finding artwork for the wall.

I was thinking about using book covers. Any one have any ideas?

Re: Library Theme

  • Framed bookcovers or bookcovers on canvas would be cute.  You could do these too:  (scroll through, there are a lot of cute ones)

What bedding are you using?  I really like this idea. :)

  • what a super cute idea!

I searched etsy, and found this as a way to display book covers.

Make sure to post pics of your finished nursery--I can't wait to see how it turns out.

  • a friend of mine took her favorite baby books and put velcro on the back and velcroed them to the walls, and also velcroed them closed! That way when the baby gets older it can get the books off the wall, I thought this was really cute!
  • I've never heard of anyone doing a library theme for a nursery, but I think it's a cute idea. I've seen wallpaper borders that look like books on a shelf. That would go good.

You could also stencil something on the wall, such as, "Please be quiet. . . baby is reading!"

  • That's a great idea!  I love it!  You could feature/display all of your favorite childhood books and maybe some of the characters if you were able to find them.

A friend of mine has reproductions of her favorite Golden Books hanging in her baby's room.  It's so cute!

If I think of any other ideas, I'll post them for you - I'm excited to see what other ideas other posters have, too.

  • There's this coffee shop that I have been to quite a few times. They have an entire wall painted as if it is a book shelf. Sorry I do not have a pic but I can describe it for you.

I lookes like you are standing at a huge book shelf and you can see all the titles of the books some are tilted some shelfs have more books than other.

Then they painted really popular titles on the books.

You could do that with kids books.

Also, you could just have a book shelf and request everyone to bring a book to your baby shower to add to it.

Good Luck! Update us with the finished look please :D

  • I got the Eeboo Alphabet Wall Cards called "All Around the Land" for our nursery (you can google it, a lot of sites sell it- the best deal I found was funfinity.com I think) , our bedding has some alphabet stuff on it & the colors go really well. Our room has 2 walls with shelves along the entire length up about 14 inches from the ceiling (we didn't install it but it is about 8 inches deep & has nice molding &whatnot supporting it, it is really cute) so we're putting the entire alphabet up there to line the 2 walls, tehn when they're older we can take them down & use them to learn the alphabet.

When I was trying to decide what to do, I was also thinking letters or books & was considering getting some vintage books or some favorite old Golden Books &framing the covers, etc like pp's have mentioned.

I also love the wall mounted book bins from Land of Nod, I'm hoping to get one to mount on the wall near our glider for easy access to read to them at night.
