"crunchy" pediatrician recommendations - Dallas

Anyone have a pediatrician to recommend who is on the alternative side?  welcomes or even suggests alternative vaccine schedules, hesitant to give antibiotics, considerate of less common treatments, and understanding that the medical world/AAP may not have all of the answers quite yet?  TIA

I like our pediatrician a lot but he is very traditional.  And, I am thinking I am not.  I am wondering if there is a better match out there - actually, I know there is, just don't know who...

Re: "crunchy" pediatrician recommendations - Dallas

  • i have some GFs that do...i'll call them up and find out for you...i would recommend mine, but he's moving :(
  • Loading the player...
  • So far, mine has been open to us doing alternative treatments, but she's in Plano.  If that's not too far for you to drive, let me know.
  • Thanks to you both - no plano is not too far at all
  • We see Dr. Mehendale with Willow Bend Pediatrics.  We've seen her 4x so far and love her!  972-403-9355

You can PM me if you want more info...just let me know you sent me a msg as I don't chk them.

  • Thank you!  I will look her up and let you know if I have questions!  Thanks again.
  • I've heard great things about Dr. Bain in Frisco, too.

We see Dr. Cahan in Coppell. She is family practice, so all of us go to her and absolutely adore her. (Even DH, who is not crunchy at all.) She is wonderful and I highly recommend her... but if Plano is convenient to you, Coppell probably isn't Smile

  • My pediatrician is very laid back. I don't know if I would call him crunchy. I know for a fact he is open to alternative vaccines because we do an alternate schedule. We actually get 1 vaccine every six weeks and he is fine with that. We are a little behind, but will eventually catch up. I don't know about antibiotics because DS hasn't been sick yet... Knock on wood. I see Dr foster at pediatrics of Dallas. Www.padnewsletter.com
  • Thanks.

i have heard great things about Bain too - I forgot about that.

I am in Dallas, so Coppell is do-able too.

Bieanca - we too go to PAD, but see Dreiling.  I do like him and obviously he is respectful of my wishes re: vaccines, but I wouldn't say he is "fine" with it...

     I appreciate everyone's suggestions
