IVF Moms... or anyone w/ experience w/ fertility assistance

Ladies,

I would really like to know who you would recommend to go to help assist in getting pregnant. I heard of this "Fertility God Dr of Austin" and I would like to know who he is and your story if you wouldn't mind sharing. I have a very dear close family member of mine who would really be able to benefit from any information you would like to provide or share. Please email me if you feel more comfortable. Any information would be greatly appreciated!!

  • For me, it was Dr Seeker OB/GYN. He's also an infertility specialist. He's amazing and was able to finally get us pg after 2yrs. I also saw an RE, Dr Lisa Hansard, but liked Seeker better and he was much cheaper. The only thing Dr Seeker can't do is IVF (but he can do IUI, which we ended up doing), but he's a great doctor and I feel lucky to be one of his patients.

  • I did my IVF cycles with Dr. Vaughn at Texas Fertility Center. I did one fresh cycle, which resulted in my son, and I am now pregnant with twin boys from a frozen embryo transfer. He has been at this for thirty years now, so he has tons of experience and his clinic has a great success rate too. There are four doctors there. Although you have your primary doctor there who you will always see for your regular appointments they take turns seeing patients on the weekends so they can have some time off. I saw Drs. Hansard and Silverberg for weekend ultrasouns appts and liked them both, although Dr. Vaughn is my very favorite! The only Dr. there who I have no experience with is Dr. Burger, who is new. I would highly recommend them for IVF. We have been very impressed with them.

One other thing. I read recently on the Austin Moms of Multiples Board that there are other doctors in Austin doing IVF, but they are NOT board certified reproductive endocrinologists and there are some horror stories out there about people wasting lots of money with them. I think Texas Fertility Center may have the only board certified REs in town, but that is definitely something your friend would want to look into if she is looking at different clinics. She would want to be sure she was seeing a board certified RE for IVF.

  • I love Dr Seeker!  We got pg with him via IUI.  (The details are in my bio if you are interested.)  I love his office and his nurses.  He does usually run fairly late (sometimes by a few hours), but it never really bothered me because once I saw him he was so patient with all of my questions.  I never felt like he was rushing me in and out.  Just bring a book.  :)

If your friend needs IVF, I have heard nothing but wonderful things about Dr Vaughn, as Kim777 pointed out.

    Good luck to your friend.
