blog ads question

How do you puts ads on your blog and do you get any money for doing that?

I ask because I saw a blog that had a bunch of ads and on top it said the child's college fund.

I have the google adsense ads - and they only work if someone clicks on them. So far, I've made a whoppin' $3 or something silly like that.

I know that the BlogHer ads pay per website visit, but they aren't accepting new applications.
