Holy temper-tantrum

DD will. not. nap. this morning.  Urg.  But she's no joy to be a round while awake, either - so she needs to nap!  I put her down for her usual 9am nap - she was rubbing her eyes, etc - like any other morning....but absolutely refuses to sleep.  She is in there screaming!  i've already been in there twice - and read her a book, rocked her, but it doesn't help!  :-(  Please let today be a good day.  Please.

Re: Holy temper-tantrum

  • DD does this from time to time.  I just leave her in her crib for a bit. Usually she will fall asleep after playing some time on her own.

  • Sounds like she may be ready to drop her morning nap.  DD dropped hers around 14 months.  It takes a bit for them to totally adjust but when DD dropped hers, she would not sleep for her morning nap.  She was tired and needed to sleep - but didn't need two naps.  But in 2-3 weeks, it was much better for her to just have the one nap.

You know, this hasn't occured to me.  I'll bet that's what it is.  Darn, I really enjoy the morning nap!

One more note - we moved DDs nap to earlier in the day when she went to one.  I don't remember her old schedule now, but she naps right after lunch now and I know we started that around 14 months.  Good luck!

DS's nap is right after lunch now too but he dropped his morning nap a long time ago. DS likes to fight his nap too, he fight more if people are around if it's not at home but once he's out he sleeps for over two hours.
