productive "sounding" cough

DS had a fever for 3 days last week, has a cough that sounds phlegm-y, a runny nose, and is kind of grouchy.

i don't know if it is because a new tooth broke through, and he is working on another one, or if he may have caught DH's upper respiratory infection.

the highest his fever got was 101.9, so i didn't call the pedi.  since he still has the cough, would you call or wait it out?  he still has decongestant from the last time he was sick that the pedi okayed me to use if he got congested again, and i have been giving him that, but we are almost out.

Does his cough or breathing sound wheezy at all?  If it does, I would definitely call. DS had this and we had to do a nebulizer for breathing treatments.  If not, I think what you are doing sounds good.  When DS gets a cold like that, I do what I can at home to help him get through it.  I do the baby vicks, humidifier, elevated head, etc.  I really hope he feels better soon.  It takes them so long to get over these colds sometimes.  Hopefully he doesn't pass it to you!
