I need dentist help if you don't mind!
I seem to be much more sore today than yesterday, it is hard to open my mouth too wide. I also wanted to ask you is it stitches I can see/feel back there? I have one hole where one of the 3 had come through but the others were still beneath the gum. They seem to now look like a line & I can't tell if it's stitches. Surely my surgeon would've mentioned them?
Re: *jorie*
Hey, sorry I didn't see this last night. Swelling and stiffness will peak 2-3 days after the surgery, so it's normal that you're more sore today than yesterday. I would think that the surgeon would have mentioned the sutures, but regardless...they'd be the kind that dissolve on their own. You might be able to feel the knot with your tongue. Try not to play around with them though. A lot of people freak out when we don't use sutures and they can see/feel a big gaping hole. That's totally normal though and the tissues will come together and heal just fine.
I hope your recovery continues to go well!
