Babies: 0 - 3 Months

How long does your 2 month old stay awake??

She usually gets up for the day around 6 or 7 am, eats, is up for about an hour (counting the eating session) and then sleeps for a few hours. She takes a few naps during the day but never really stays awake for more than 2 hours at a time. She is a pretty good night sleeper - we put her down around 9 or 10 and she sleeps until around 3 or 4 am, then feeds and back down until 6 or 7. Im just scared that she is not awake enough during the day and it will eventually lead to bad night sleeping patterns. How long can your 2 month old stay awake during the day?

  • This sounds pretty similar to my DS, although he's starting to stay awake for longer at a time - and he sleeps great at night.

this.  We also struggle getting him down for bed & naps.  Hopefully it will get easier!

Exactly. I get crying and head banging when he's tired until he falls asleep. Could be an hour of that first though.

  • Your night schedule sounds similar to my LO's; however, my LO sleeps less during the day.  Usually she takes a long nap in the AM (about 3 hours) and short cat naps in the afternoon.
