I have these weird little bumps on the back of my upper arms. I've always had them, but it seems like they've gotten worse since childbirth. Does anyone else have them? I guess I should ask my doc at my next appointment.

Re: Bumps on the back of arms
Keratosis Pilaris. I have it all over, too.

ETA: There's no cure, either. You can treat it, but it always comes back. And its hereditary.

It's typically referred to as this:

My Dad is a dermatologist, so don't thank me for that answer. It's all him
Is he taking new patients? *L* I called about 6 dermatologists to try and make an appointment, but they're either not taking new patients, or won't book them until February 2010. WTF?

AK, he is taking new patients, but he is one of the crazies that is booked out for miles and miles. It's insane!

Don't pick! They will scar if you do.
Yes, this...I have it too but only on my biceps. It tends to get worse for me during the summer.
Seriously, KP + Picking Habit = ICK. And definitley scarring.
I've had it ever since I was 12 or so (hm, puberty linked?) and I have a horrible picking habit. Started with just the backs of my arms. Developed on my lower legs when I was in college,
Never found anything that ocnsistently worked to keep it in check except a trip to the beach... always seemed to calm it down through the fall.
Ugh! I hate them! I've been treated and mine never seem to go away and when they do go away they immediately come back if I stop treatment.
I got REALLY pissed off when I read in last month's Cosmo that what a ''turn off bumpy chicken skin arms' are. Then they mentioned how to treat. But I highly doubt the person writing that little piece of info has KP, LOL!
I've got it on full arms, full legs, and my butt. :-( Boo.
And I've got a few spots that I've picked at regularly that have scarred, but I have to be extremely careful in the sun, because I'm so fair-skinned. The sun makes my KP flare really badly. I get bad sunburn on my arms just from wearing short-sleeves while driving. :-P

i had a mild case before getting pregnant, but it became so much worse during pregnancy and after... coupled with chubby post-baby-weight arms, i feel pretty gross in the upper arm area.
anyways, here is what i do that helps, recommended my some lady who was giving me a facial and commented on my bumpy arms (niiicce...). i use exfoliate in the shower and then use AmLactin (it is a lotion with alpha-hydroxy acids - you can pick it up at cvs/walgreens). it doesn't make it go away, but it really does help.
