My husand has been on unemployment 2x in th last 2 years.  He works in sales and it's a very volatile job market.

Just because you lose your job does not mean you need to change your entire way of life.  The point of unemployment is to help you through until you find another job.  Lord knows we've paid more than our fair share into the system.

Exactly. DH has worked and paid into the system for over 12 years. He has been on unemployment since last May and doesn't feel guilty about it one bit. He's looking for a job, but in this economy it's near impossible to find a job. And now that we have a baby and are landlords (due to my dad's death), it's even harder to keep afloat.

It's not like you can just take any inconsequential job.  We have obligations such as a mortgage, and when the unemployment is more than a minimum wage job, why wouldn't you take it.
