Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Mothers of 2 or more can you answer me honestly please....

Do you love all of your children equal?  I know the PC answer is to say yes.  But I love DS so much it makes me wonder when we have another if I will love the 2nd as much.  I feel horrible for thinking that way....but I do.

  • Yes and everytime I see them together, smiling, laughing, etc, it makes me love them even more.  I am surprised my heart hasn't burst at this point from all the love.  Seriously.

  • Yes, I do.  My older 2 have very different personalities so maybe that also helps.  There are days when one kid is getting on my nerves but it is still all equal.  I had the same feelings when I got pregnant with my second...and with my third.

This too.  I love watching them play together.  Some days they will play for hours and hours just being silly.  I really love watching them interact with the baby since they are older.  It is very cute.

  • I just heard a wonderful answer for this on Bonnie Hunt.  You love all your children the same, you just like them differently!

    LOL.

No - really - I was worried I wouldn't love the baby as much as my older daughter, because it was just the two of us for 10 years before I met my DH.  My relationship with Chloe is different, but I love them both just as much.

  • Yes...but of course they are each special in their own way! It is great to watch them each reach their milestones and watch their personalities develop. They are each a special gift to me :)

  • I wonder this too when I got pg again. I couldn't imagine loving another baby as much after all the bonding I just went thru with my first. Don't feel bad, I think thats normal to question it. I absolutely love them equal though. No question. I guess there is no limit on love & both babies have a way of stealing my heart.  I can't imagine life w/o either girl. They both are my life.

That is so sweet! You almost made me cry!!! :)

  • I must be the oddball. The love is different. Of course I love them both, but I have this 5 year relationship with my older daughter. She's my buddy and the sweetest thing in the world. My 7 week old is still growing on me. lol. I loved her instantly, but I just now feel like I am starting to "know" her. It's just different. I am anxious to see how it is when they are older. I kinda agree with the quote above. You love them both equally, but some days you like them unequally. You KWIM?

My husband says he was his Mom's favorite (which the other 3 agree). I know my brother is my Dad's favorite. I think I was my Mom's favorite kid. Honestly, as sad as it is, I do think parents have favorites. Just like in life, different personality types click better. My Mom and I are best friends. She doesnt have that same relationship with my other sisters. We all have different personalities. It doesn't mean she doesn't love us all equally.

I guess that might be flame worthy.

  • I love both of them .... they both have their cute lil quirks

I was feeling super shameful and guilty at first thinking ... omg I wish I had one baby ... or DD is cuter (sh'es more round and looks like a Doll and DS is long and lanky) but I find them both cute now!
