Sometimes I feel like there is never a moment when DS is truly happy. He is either sleeping, eating, or crying. All I want is 30 minutes of a happy baby.
DD is almost 3 mos and is starting to become happier. i think since she is getting older, her digestive system is developing or becoming able to handle more. but we also do have our good days and bad days.
DD was like that too for about her first two months. I remember saying 'All babies can't be like this', but she just ended up growing out of it. And now shes like a different kid.
And yes you will get it! It could be a witching hour thing, maybe more than just nighttime for you or it could just be that thing where your LO just isn't adjusted to the outside world yet. It WILL get better
Not yet. The pedi wanted me to try all the alternatives first before giving meds or going on formula.
He's EBF right now, so I watch my diet and already don't eat dairy. He sleeps on incline, eats on an incline, and stays upright for at least 30 min after eating. We have another pedi appt today and I'll probably cave to the meds. Hopefully they work!
OMG, Was right there with ya a month ago. DD was put on Rx "Axcid" and sh's been HAPPY ever since. She has only 2 more weeks on the stuff and we can stop it all together, this past week she was weened dow from 4 dosages a day to twicw a day And she isn't crying !!! Also I burp DD every ounce she eats, hold at incline while feeding and she's all good Hope this helps.
K, here I go w/ the crazy chiropractor thing again- but we were having MAJOR reflux probs. and w/ a couple visits to the chiro he doesn't have pain anymore. There are 2 other girls @ our office that had babies right around when I did and they've had the same experience. If you know a chiro that you trust you might give that a shot if you don't want to go the medicine route.
Hang in there! I used to ask my mom all the time, "I think I just have an unhappy baby!" But one day your son will surprise you, and it will be the best. day. ever.
My DS was like this from basically birth until about 3 months - reflux, always eating, sleeping, or crying/fussing. I felt so awful that I couldn't make him happy, and that he just seemed miserable. I really never thought he'd be happy. It got much better around 3 months, and now at 5 months he is seriously a smiley, laughing, happy baby. He smiles so easily at everyone, it's really unbelievable. Just hang in there, keeping loving on your LO and being there for them, and it'll get better!
