Adoption

Please Recommend Books

Hi ladies,

DH & I are starting to talk about considering adoption and I have talked to a few friends who have adopted but I would like to learn more and educate myself before we decide how & when we will move forward.  There are two kinds of books I would like to read, one that gives us facts about the different kinds of adoptions and what to expect and the other a book that a mother wrote regarding her process and what she learned, not so much educational but something a little light that is enjoyable reading that in a way educates me but also helps me understand what she went through.

I know that's a lot on the 2nd book, I'm just trying to figure how to move forward with this and hoping maybe that kind of book will help me understand.  Thank you so much for any suggestions.

  • I'm at work now but will get back to you when I get home because I have so many adoption books, half I haven't even read yet but it has become an addiction. The two that I loved though are "Idiots guide to adoption" and "Adoption for Dummies". I liked Idiots guide much more.

  • I have a number of books referenced in my blog.  Link is in my siggy.  you can check them out on Amazon or whatever and see if they meet your needs.
