So on my 6 week appointment my OB recommended waiting until my next period to get the Mirena put in since I had my first period already (around 5 weeks).  He said he would do it but he prefers waiting to do it during a period, I was fine with that since my OB after my second did it the same way.

My husband is due home very soon after almost 8 months so my OB gave me a pack of German birth control.  But I never started taking it because it would have delayed my period and I was thinking I would get my period and get the IUD right before or while my husband was here.  Well, so far still no sign of my period and I have also been reading today that many of you spotted for about a month after you got the Mirena.  I had the Mirena before but I can't remember if I bled a lot right after.  I don't think I did but I do NOT want to be bleeding while my husband is here since he will be here only 2 weeks.

I was thinking I will just wait until next month to get my IUD put in so I won't potentially bleed the whole 2 weeks he is here (he won't be home again until November/December after these 2 weeks).  I thought that I could go ahead and start this German birth control pill and that might just make my period be delayed.  I am okay with that.  I know that should not be the only form of birth control since it won't be in my system long.

So what would you do?  I just starting thinking about this a little bit ago and it is almost 8 pm so I can't call my OB for his advice.

I am in Germany so it is a birth control pill they use here.  He said I would take it for 26 days then 4-6 days later I should get my period.  I can't read that paper in it since it is all in German.  No, I am FF.
