First off my name is Val and I work as a preschool teacher for 4-6 y/o's, and we have a set of twins in our class so I have lurked on here a few times, but onto my story. I told one of my co-workers that my husband and I were going to start TTC and I was going to go off the pill next month. Then she proceeded to tell me that if we get pregnant the first month that it would be twins b/c you always ovulate twice after going off of the pill. I was cracking up at her. She is very young and immature so I had to laugh and share her stupidity with you guys!
Re: I thought this would amuse all of you.
While I'm certain that not all folks release 2 eggs after going off the pill, I have heard that it is common for this to happen. Good luck...
Ha, while I have heard of this happening, the first rule of TTC is that nothing always happens. At least she wasn't on the other end of the spectrum and thought you can't get pregnant your first month off the pill.
*Siggy Warning*
About me 2007: Started TTC. 2008: OB prescribed clomid, went to RE and was Dx with PCOS. 2009: IUI #1 w/follitsim and trigger = BFP. B/G Twins born at 33 weeks. 2012: TTC #3, Round 2 of Letrozole w/TI = BFP, missed m/c at 8 1/2 wks. Currently on the bench as we make plans for a new home. Anxious to start TTC #3 within the next year!
Duh, everyone knows that you cant get pregnant your first month off BC, just like you cant get pregnant if you jump up & down after sex.
Man, stupid people are so funny
There is a greater chance, yes, but not everyone right off of BC gets pregnant with multiples. That is what the OP was referring to.
