Anxiety about new OB...

The OB that delivered DD moved her practice downtown after I had DD, and since last time with DD I was at the office for checkups I decided with #2 I would try another ob that is close to us. I have been to the new Ob about 4 times and saw Dr. Collins 1 time. This is just bizarre to me because with Dr. Braunstein she was very hands on and I saw her every time I went in. Also I knew the sonographer at Braunstein's and she always went above and beyond explaining things and showing us the different parts of the baby. We also found out the sex at 15 weeks. The gender sonogram isn't until 20 weeks with Collins and they never really explain stuff like Krista did. I dunno I guess I am just anxious that I don't know these people that will be delivering my baby by C/S whereas I completely trusted Braunstein.

I'm sorry you're feeling anxious about the practice. If it makes you feel a bit better you will be seeing the Dr. for your last month or so of appointments. But really, if you feel uncomfortable I'd just request they make your appointments with the Dr. instead of a NP.

Thought at least with your c/s you know Dr. collins will be delivering you and not another dr. in the practice. my dr. didn't end up delivering me but i was fine with that, i even sort of liked the dr. that delivered me better than my dr!

Dr. Collins (I'm assuming you're talking about RWG) ended up delivering Tommy as my dr. was oot and she was the dr. on call. I thought she was great!

The girls who schedule for Merritt/ Collins have always been receptive to scheduling you w/ the dr. rather than the NP (although, Wendy- the NP is really, really cool). Just let them know your preference. Of course, as with all ob/gyns there is always a chance you will get there and Dr. Collins will be at the hospital doing a delivery.
