Help! Charting... What to record

Hello, charters!  Question for you....

Should I record my temp from this morning when I got up to go to the bathroom (5:15- 97.97) or my normal waking time (7- 98.7).  I had some good dreamy sleep in between the two, so I am leaning toward the waking, but yes, that makes my waking time temp holy crap super high!  Any thoughts?  FF says to record normal waking time, I believe.  TIA

Re: Help! Charting... What to record

  • if you're using FF you can actually type those two in and average them out using the program. Go to "Data" then to "Temperature Corrector".  You'll still get an open circle, but it might help with the worry of the high temp.

  • I would record the waking time, but consider it a possible outlier. I think you're supposed to get a minimum of 3 continuous hours of sleep for the reading to be considered accurate. If it's the only high temp over the next few days, throw it out.

ETA: That should be normal waking time.

  • I'd record the 5:15 time.  I would think your 7 AM temp would be higher than normal anyway, since you had already been awake and gotten up.  I don't know about FF, but the TCOYF software adjusts the temps to your normal waking time.

  • I would record your 5:15 waking time. You're supposed to have at least 3 hours of sleep before you can temp and there was less than 2 before your "normal" waking time. But when you change the time of temp in FF it will give you an open circle. However, I've never found that to be much of a problem. Good luck!

  • I would record the waking time at 5:15.
  • Yah, I'd also record the 5:15 time. It seems like the time just a couple hours later was probably elevated from you getting up to use the restroom, and not being asleep for 3 hours, etc.
