C-section moms

When you first became pregnant with #2, did your scar or stomach feel strange? There is a possibility Im pregnant, (I'll be testing in a few days), and I've been feeling very strange. TMI, but I had the big D 2 days ago and now my scar feels sensitive, kind of like a pulling sensation and my stomach just feels full or something. I never felt like this with #1.

Re: C-section moms

  • What's the "big D"?

I have not had any pulling or fullness, but I didn't get pg till 10 months out from my section.

  • i got prego again when DD was 11 weeks old, i didnt have any scar issues until recently and I am 34 weeks prego. I did notice that whenever I would lay down with DD on top of me, like to help her go to sleep, I would feel pressure in my stomach that would almost radiate into my back. That was one of the major reasons I took the at home test to begine with.
  • I was 14 months out from my c-section when I got pregnant again, but my scar bothers me from time to time pregnant or not. I had asked my doctor about it and he said I may always have some sensitivity in the scar area.

  • I haven't had any scar sensitivity that I could directly correlate with getting pg.  I've always had scar itching/sensitivity anyways.

  • I was 10 months pp, but never had any problems.
  • I was 12 months pp and never really had any weird sensations from my scar - however I have heard of many ladies that do so I think its possible.

  • i was 7 months pp when i got pregnant.  i do have some scar sensitivity now and then.
  • Mine are 17 months apart.  You'd be even closer than that.

    If you're only 4 -5 weeks I'd say it's a bit improbable.

But... I had a LOT of sensation (pulling, stretching) in my section scar.

I posted about it and got a lot of "yep... I felt that too" when I experienced it.

I asked my OB about it and he explained that when the scar tissue forms on the uterus it grows web-like across the abdomen to the interior of the muscle/skin in that area.  When the uterus starts to expand that scar tissue will likely rip apart with the movement.

Mine lasted thru my first tri and then it was done.

He also said I would likely feel it more than most because I'm fair skinned and as such likely have more scar tissue because we generate a larger than normal amount.

Our IF journey: 1 m/c, 1 IVF with only 3 eggs retrieved yielding Dylan and a lost twin, 1 shocker unmedicated BFP resulting in Jace, 3 more unmedicated pregnancies ending in more losses.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
