***Abbysmom***

Aren't you a Dell wife?  If you are could, I possibly pick your brain about insurance while you were pregnant?  I'm just curious how your experience was and if you had any snags along the way.

If you don't want to post here could you e-mail me at ditzydi_2000 at yahoo dot com.  TIA!

  • yeah, DH works for Dell.

we were switched over to aetna at the beginning fo the year. before that we had humana, and while i gripped about a few things they did they were soooooooooooooooooooooo much better than aetna.  we honestly have had a lot of issues with aetna so far.

the coverage is so much less than what we had with aetna.  our co-pay went up to $500 pp (it was $200) and our max out of pocket went from $1500 to $2500 and ofcourse our premiums also went up.  this alone was bad enough, but we have also found that aetna's coverage is not near as good as humana's was.

with my PG most everything coverage-wise was the the same, other than the higer co-pay and oop ofcourse.  they paid 90% of everything once the $500 dedctible was met.  I just got my hospital bill in the other day and it was just under $9000 for a non complication vaginal delivery, but it was adjusted to around $5000 through an aetna comtract, so we owe 10% of that.  we are still sifting through the bills but over all it looks like we will pay just under $1500 out of pocket for everything.  they did cover most everything as far as ultrasounds etc, so that was good.

we did not have any snags as far as my PG was concerned. oh well i almost forgot. they did not cover a hearing test on J that was performed in the hospital. not sure why i still need to call them and talk to them about that one.  hopefully it will be sorted out, because i really do not feel like paying another $300.  we have come across lots of snags and them refusing to pay on lots of stuff for DH's diabetes though. :(
