I have been having them for the past week. I am just praying that I don't go into preterm labor at 22 weeks like I did with my last pregnancy. So far, I have just had Braxton Hicks.
I was reading that they start about 6 weeks so Im guessing its not to early.
"Braxton Hicks contractions are sporadic uterine contractions that start about 6 weeks into your pregnancy, although you won't be able to feel them that early. You probably won't start to notice them until sometime after mid-pregnancy, if you notice them at all. (Some women don't.) They get their name from John Braxton Hicks, an English doctor who first described them in 1872."
Definately possible this early. As long as it's just tightening and uncomfortable plus they go away when you get up or change positions you should have nothing to worry about. When they start to become more than just uncomfy, are painful, become more regular, or don't go awy when you move around then give your doc a ring. I would mention it to you doc or widwife at your next appointment just to let him/her know whats going on with you.
Oh yeah. I thought I was going crazy bc I felt them last week (16ish) and my OB confirmed that since I know what they feel like from before it is possible. I def. remember having them by 23weeks with DS though.
I started to get BH around 16-17 weeks...don't recall them that early w/ first pregnancy. Same thing...my tummy just tightens up and feels kinda hard and then relaxes. I just started to drink more water and take it a bit easier when I get them. Some days I get SEVERAL and other days almost nothing.
Re: Braxton Hicks
PS - my tightening is low

this!
I got my first one yesterday. And another today.
It hurts =[ but my entire abdominal area has been sore since I started showing. I'm really feeling the stretching that's going on in here!
Thanks all!!! I really appreciate you ladies!
Hope everyone is well today!
