We are in the home study process of adopting from Korea. My DH was born in Korea, and his family moved here 35 years ago when he was 2. He does not have a birth certificate--only his U.S. Citizenship papers. I have asked our social worker about this, and she is checking on it. (Copies of both (if applicable) are required.) I was just wondering if anyone else had this situation? TIA!
My dh is from Pakistan & like your DH only has his naturalization papers. We ended up not needing to get his birth certificate, but I checked with the Pakistan consulate in Los Angeles & he could have gotten a copy from them. Maybe the Korean consulate or embassy has a similar service?
