hey, I was curious how you're doing!  August is right around the corner, how long does your doctor think you'll make it til?  Are you excited, scared, nervous??  Are you ready!?  :)

hope you're doing well, I haven't seen enough freak out posts from ya, so I'm betting you're doing great.

  • Hi! Thanks for checking on me. I am still doing pretty good. I've started to get really uncomfortable in the last week or so, but just normal pregnancy stuff: bad reflux, sciatic nerve pain, rib pain, hip pain, definitely not sleeping as well, but nothing I wasn't anticipating! For the important stuff, my cervix was still measuring 3.5 last week - long and closed with no funneling, haven't felt a contraction - not even BH, blood pressure still good. I had protein in my urine last week. No other signs of pre-e and they didn't seem concerned. I did read online (I know, stay off google!) that it can be a sign of a UTI or kidney infection if there are no other signs of pre-e. I'll definitely be asking my doctor about that on Wednesday since no one mentioned it (he was out of town). My mom is helping me finish up Rhett's new big boy room and the twins' nursery this week so that will be my last big project to finish up. Yay! Dr. S is convinced that I will make it to full term since my cervix looks so great, but I am definitely not going to jump the gun on making assumptions. The peri said there are no guarantees past 8 pounds since that's all we know I can carry (what Rhett weighed) and the boys were each just shy of 4.5 pounds last Tuesday, so we have definitely passed that point! I'm going to try really hard to rest as much as possible (okay, once I get the boys' rooms done :) the next couple of weeks because I want desperately to make it to at least 34 weeks. Fingers crossed! Oh, and both babies were breech last week, so I'm thinking I'm likely to end up going the c-section route.

  • sounds like you were meant to carry twins!  wow!  you're doing fantastic.  I don't know your exact due date, just August (I never pay attention to that long list in the pg check-in), but it sounds like you're just trucking right along.  Can't wait to see what you've got picked out for their nursery.  And I cannot believe you haven't had any BH contractions.  Not fair!  I started getting them around 26 weeks and then all the time at 28 weeks.  Lucky girl.  Cooper was head down, then head up, then down, then up all in the last 6-8 weeks, so your guys still have time to move around--even if the peri says it isn't possible!  Are you seeing a peri??  Or just Dr. S?

oh yeah, did you get a lovey blanket from TFC when you had Rhett?  We received a package in the mail this past Friday from them with two of these beautiful blankies for the boys and I was wondering if it was a thing with all TFC patients or just Dr. Hansard's patients.

    have a good night!

  • We aren't seeing a peri regularly. We saw Dr. Berry once for an anatomy scan around 22 weeks. He pretty much gave us the doom and gloom speech about expecting to have been in the hospital at least once by last week for PTL, expect to deliver by 3 weeks from now, etc. I know he was just being realistic and I honestly did appreciate having his opinion on things. August 27th would be 40 weeks, so they will be here by August 13th or so at the latest. Peri thought end of July, Dr. S thinks we will make it to the end. I guess we will see! We won't see the peri again unless there is a need to. We just see Dr. S weekly from here on out. And I am now suspecting Baby A may be head down again. He had hiccups way, way low last night. He is the flipper of the two, of course!

We didn't get the lovey, but I think everyone is supposed to. Since I didn't update them that he was here until he was 9 months old, I'm guessing they just didn't send it. I will try to be more on top of things and send them an announcement this time. :) I think it is really cool that they send those out!
