Would you call the OB on call?

Yesterday was pure hell with my DS (DH out out of town).  I wasn't surprised by the end of the day when I realized that DS 2.0 hadn't been moving around much.

Once I sat down and relaxed, he was very quiet - usually between 9-10 he's super active.  He didn't move around much last night (even when I went to bed), and hasn't been moving much today.  I have GD and even had 1/2 of a doughnut w/some coffee the AM to try to give him a kick-start (no pun intended).  Nada.

It's not like I haven't felt him at ALL, but he's been MUCH more quiet than usual.  We are leaving for the beach tomorrow aroudn 1p.  Would you call the OB on call today or not worry so much b/c I have felt him move, just not nearly as much as usual?  I tend to be a worrier (and then overcompensate by trying NOT to worry, if that makes any kind of sense!).  I have lots of stuff to do this afternoon and would love to not sit in L&D for hours for nothing, but would obviously feel horrible if something realyl were wrong.

WWYD??  I swear stuff like this always happens to me on holidays... grrr... :(

Re: Would you call the OB on call?

  • My doc said that they go in cycles, and some days are just more laid back than others. Also, the more pregnant you get, the less room there is in there.

If it will make you feel better, call. That's what they are there for. I would just say that movement is decreased, but he is still moving some.

  • I think it always better to call.

  • Coming in late, but I would definitely call.  Better safe than sorry.

  • FYI - I went to L&D, all is fine :)  Little man is facing my back which is why I'm not feeling him.  Heartbeat was great, they didn't pick up movement on the fetal monitor either so they did an u/s and you could see him moving, but his back was at my front (if that makes any sense).

Of course, he's already turned aroudn now and is practicing karate.  Good times :)  Glad I went, though since we are going to the beach tomrorow for a few days.  Thank you to those who responded! :)
