DD's pedi just prescribed Zantac for her because she is coughing often and fussing at (some) feedings. He put her on 0.5ml 2xday. The instructions do not say when to administer.
I gave her her first dose last night before she ate and she threw up the entire 3oz. She NEVER spits up, let alone throws up. I know its was the meds. It might be coincidental but she has barely eaten much since then (8pm last night) and she is sleeping more than usual today.
I'm thinking I would rather have her coughing and fussing a little than this!
I left a message for the nurse but they're off today. Any thoughts?
Re: When do you give your LO their Zantac?
I give it to her first thing in the morning and before bed. She still spits up a lot like she usually does but her pain is gone and since shes lying flat all night I would think that is when she is most likely to have the reflux.
I have never verified with my pedi though when the best time is.
