I need a change and would love feedback from anyone who gets their hair dyed at a salon. I've been getting highlights but want to bump up my natural color (I can see a little gray coming, and want to go lighter in general). Am thinking of taking the plunge and getting it dyed a little lighter all over with a few highlights on top. My question is how often do you find yourself having to go back for touch ups? With my highlights I only go every 3 months, but I think this would require more like every 8 weeks or so...
Re: NBR: single-process hair color??
My hair grows really fast, and I have had grey since age 17 so it's tougher to cover. I have it down every 4 weeks.
The good part is, because I have so much grey it almost creates it's own highlights.
I go every 6-8 weeks. It really depends on how different your color is from your natural color & how quickly your hair grows. Mine is only slightly lighter than natural, so I feel like I can let it go a little longer.
I also switched from highlights at a mid-priced salon to single process at Hair Cuttery. Even though I'm going more often, the price is dramatically cheaper.
