Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Are we SURE there isn't a 2 month wakeful??

Where did my good sleeper go??  She used to nap at least three times a day for 2-3 hours and then do a 6 hour and 4 hour stretch at night.  Now I know the nighttime thing was really good for her age, but still it's been going like this for weeks.  Then the 6 week growth spurt hit, and while her nights were still going well, her naps became nonexistent.  Now all she wants to do is eat every two freakin hours!  And I am not just giving her snack bottles, im talking like 4 oz every two hours! My kid is going to be the size of a house (joking).  Last night she was up every 2-3 hours.  Ive asked my pedi about overfeeding and he of course says that I can't..his philosophy is "feed on demand, she will eat when shes hungry and spit up what she doesn't need.  She has spit up maybe three times since being born.  Im going out of my mind. I feel like I am either trying to get crankypants to sleep, or making her another bottle every time I turn around.  And no, she is not always fussy, she does play under her play mat, i sing to her, do tummy time..but overtiredness kicks in and all hell breaks loose :(:(

  • DS is the exact same way!!! I posted something similar a few days ago. I got the advice that it could just be continued from the growth spurt? IDK, but I would like my happy baby back!

  • I'm in the same boat- DS will only sleep his 2-3 hours if he's in his carseat. He doesn't even care if its moving which is really weird. He just chills on the living room floor and crashes. The bouncy seat doesn't even do it for him. If he's in his crib and wakes up he WILL eat a full feeding every time. Yesterday he ate every 2 hours all day long because we didn't go anywhere.

  • We nap in the car seat ALL the time. He falls asleep best in it. We bring him in- put it in the crib and he stays in it (still buckled) until he wakes up on his own! I cherish that car seat.
  • OMG we had the same child too. 2-3 naps usually about 2 hours long each. A couple hours of awake time in the AM and in the PM. In bed and alseep by 6:30 with a 6-7 hour stretch followed by a 4 hour stretch.

This week has been he!! - his naps are all off. His sleeping times are shifting. He's a wee bit cranky.

come back my good sleeping baby ...
