Adoption

First homestudy meeting scheduled!

This is a fun story.  We handed in the application materials the last week of May, got the packet in the mail from the agency the following Saturday outlining the next steps, who our adoption worker is, etc.  I have been trying to be patient with the waiting, but it's not easy.  I was emailing a friend yesterday trying to meet up for drinks.  She asked how the adoption stuff was going, told her I'm not very good with hurry up & wait.  She emailed me back she's praying for us - not 10 minutes later my phone rang  and it was the adoption worker!  Our appointment is 3 pm July 16th.  In this week's local paper, there are notices from two agencies about open orientation meetings.  Usually only the one agency runs this periodically, so I have a feeling they are having less people apply.

  • Congrats! It's so exciting to move forward. Especially after you felt you were spinning your wheels.

We think our agency is having fewer applicants too. Sort of a mixed blessing...

  • exciting!

    Where in Mn are you?

Married on 3.20.2004. It took 30 month, 2 failed adoptions and IVF for our first miracle. We have had 9 foster kids since he was born and started the domestic adoption process when he was 10 month old, we had 4 failed matches in that time. After our daughter was born we brought her home and spent 2 weeks fearing we might lose her because of complications that came up. But Praise God all went through and she is ours forever!
