We use BumGenius, Fuzzibunz, and thirsties ?one size AIOs. The AIOs are awesome bc they go on just like a regular diaper but attach in front with velcro or snaps. We stuff them with a microfiber and a hemp insert at night and he never leaks out.?
?
They're VERY user friendly. If my DH can do it, anyone can lol.
?
The downside is the cost. If you plan to use them with future kids or sell them htough, it's worth it and STILL cheaper than disposables. We have about 25 total and do laundry every other day.?
i started CD'ing at about 4 months and had a few random diapers cuz i didn't know what i woudl like. i would suggest the cloth trial from Jillians Drawers that i've heard people suggest, so that you can decide what works best for you, and return the diapers you don't like!
1. i use All-In-Ones (AIO) and one-sized (OS) diapers the most, but have prefolds, flats, and some others.
2. I have a lot of Bum Genius but the velcro can be kind of annoying. it's easiest, but rubs my LO"s tummy cuz she's so pudgy! the Fuzzi Bunz have snaps which are nice but not as easy to get a good fit.
3. i focused too much on worrying about washing. use whatever detergent you think is best (i got Country Save), and just change it if your LO has any problems/reactions or if the diapers have issues with it. ohh and remember to get a diaper pail liner (a bag, or some people use an old pillow case in a trash can)! i didn't have that when i started... and smaller ones for the diaper bag!
good luck! it really will save money and the laundry is easy!
1. I use prefolds with covers and snappis, a few fitteds (need covers), all-in-ones and onesize. I really like them all. Prefolds with covers are the cheapest way to start.
2. I use Thirsties covers Diapers: bumgenius os, happy heiny, fuzzibunz. These need covers: goodmama, bububebe
3. Getting a prefold on a wriggling baby and it takes some coordination to hold the diaper on and snappi it together.
The EFF board is a great place to ask for cd resources.
We normally use the pre-folds at home and the other two while out and about or on weekend trips. I like the GB's the best although I want to get some in snaps.
VERY USER FRIENDLY!! They are just like disposables. We do laundry every wed and sun.
1.? What type (style?) of diaper do you use and what do you like about it?
*we use pockets, they are the only kind dh will do.? and in all fairness to him i have found them to be the easiest.
2.? What brand do you use of that style?
*my mom makes them for me. i am super lucky.
3.? Was there a learning curve?? If so, what was the biggest thing on it?
*for me it was remembering to remove the liner before washing and close the velcro snaps.
we mostly cloth diaper just during the day. we still use disposables at night and if we are going out for a while. mostly because you have to change cloth more and sometimes that's a pain.? still the bulk of our diapering is cloth. it has saved us a ton of money and cloth diapers are wayyyy cuter.
1. pockets - DH friendly, works for day or night, dry quickly.
2. BG3.0s
3. remembering to close the velcro, figuring out the best wash routine to get rid of stains and smells, figuring out the best way to stuff them... I was going WAY overboard with stuffing at first b/c I figured they would leak so I could barely fit DS's clothes on him! Ha!
We also use occasional prefolds so we have a few covers for those. We mostly use them if we get behind in laundry or if DS has a bad rash and we need to load him up with cream.
What I don't like: I have to be so careful about rash cream as opposed to disposables where I can lather it on anytime.
The wash routine I decided works best for my hardwater w/ topload washer: large cold/cold wash on superwash with tbsp. planet detergent followed by medium hot/cold wash on superwash with tbsp. crunchy clean. I dry in the sun... the diapers smell heavenly after the pink sugar crunchy clean!

We use pockets, fitted, and prefolds. I favor pockets, and I hate all in ones.
We use fuzibunz because they are trim.
The biggest learning curve is learning how to wash them and what needs prepped and what detergents are safe.

I use:
the good ol' fashioned pre-folds
BumGenuis 3.0s and
GroBabys
