Babies: 0 - 3 Months

nbr: ugh think I just ruined dinner

so I was cooking a roast in the slow cooker and I noticed water on my counter, which has never happened before it was then that I realized the cooker was on high not low. So I just cooked my roast on high for 7.5 hours instead of on low for 10 hours! hope it's not totally ruined it looks really dark on the outside but the inside looks like it might be ok so maybe I can cut off the outside part and save some of it but there is not much liquid left for me to make the gravy w/ and there is still almost 3 hours till dinner. So now I'll end up w/ cold roast come dinner time guess I'll just have to reheat it for dinner. I'm so mad at myself!

  • K- so I'm not very good w/ the slow cooker but from my own cooking experience you could add water and keep cooking on low to make the gravy. Or if you have beef stock you could do it that way.

  • Totally lurking from third tri, but I thought I'd butt in cuz I did this a few weeks ago.  I ended up shredding/cutting it up really small, and adding bbq sauce.  We had bbq beef sandwiches for dinner that night, and no one was the wiser.
