I am more than happy with my 2k engagement ring/wedding band set. My husband wanted to spend more but I told him not to since we were in the process of buying our house and I thought it was more practical to spend the extra money on the house. Plus, I have tiny fingers so my half carat looks just fine

This reminds me of an episode of Bridezillas, when the groom showed his bride the wedding band, and she stormed out of the restaurant. Wth??? I feel sorry for your friend's fiance, too. I bet he felt terrible.
