Congrats! I'm sure you're overwhelmed! Twins aren't scary as you might imagine, especially after you've already had one baby. I have three under 2 plus a 3 year old. Just make sure to take it easy during this pregnancy, as twin pregnancies are so different and come with added complications. Check out the multiples board - the girls there are wonderful and many of them are in your situation with other little ones! Good luck!!!
Mom to Megan(5), Bridget(4), Tessa and Annie (2) and Mary (brand new)
Page Francisca. ?She's 23 weeks pregnant with twins and her son is 1 year, 5 months.

Our IF journey: 1 m/c, 1 IVF with only 3 eggs retrieved yielding Dylan and a lost twin, 1 shocker unmedicated BFP resulting in Jace, 3 more unmedicated pregnancies ending in more losses.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
There's a few of us of here in a similar circumstance. When my twins were born, DS#1 was 19 months old. This board is a great place to seek advice or vent. Congrats!!!
My DD was a year old when we got pregnant. I found out at our almost 12 week appointment that it was twins.
She was 20 months when they were born.
Thankfully finding out early means that you have more time to prepare, if there is such a thing!!!
Do you know if your twins are indentical or faternal? If Indentical do you know what type yet??
I know my first appointment at the peri they informed me that I would have to stop lifting my daughter and take it easy. Thankfully my DD started walking a bit after her 1st birthday so I didn't really have to carry her as much.
Also the peri tends to give you all the worst case scerino's that can happen, unfortantely in our world today you hear more about that then the good.
I recall my 28 week appointment they told me to go home and celebrate because if the babies were born anytime after that they were considered viable. My goal was 38 weeks and we were going to do whatever we could to make that happen.
All twins are high risk, depending on the type of twins depends how much higher of risk they are. I went for bi-monthly U/S and month cervix checks until 28 weeks. They gave me a week break and then I went weekly for U/S until 33 weeks. I then had bi-weekly U/S and NST once a week. At 35 weeks I has bi-weekly U/S & bi-weekly NST.
It was a lot because I had to got to our ATU center at our hospital 1 time per week and to my OB 1 time a week. And by 35 weeks I couldn't drive. So I depended on my DH.
My high-risk twin pregnancy was actually easier then my singleton. She was more of a risk. I had PIH and had to be induced with her.
I suffered from m/s several times a day and even threw up the morning of delivery.
I made my C-section date of 38 weeks. I never showed any sign of labor. I never even had a contraction. They told me that I could have gone 40 weeks if my 1 son wasn't breech.
Both boys were born healthy and spent no time in the NICU.
Baby A weighted in at 6 lbs 9 oz and baby b weighted in a 7 lbs 9 oz. Now at 6 month old they weight almost 19 & 20 pounds.
Good luck - you should also try the multiples board. I got a lot of help from those ladies. They are amazing.
There are even a couple of moms that have triplets - which is basically what your going to have when your twins will be born since your baby now is so young.

We will have three under two. My son was 9 months old when we got pg with the twins, so if we make it to 38 weeks (fingers crossed!) then there will be 16 months between them. I have not stopped picking him up altogether since I still need to lift him into the crib, high chair, etc., but I do try to get him to walk when we can. I also either nap or at least lay down and rest when he naps.

I had 3 under 2, but no twins. So, no advice for managing twins!
Wanted to say Congrats though!
Me, too! I can only say it for 2 more days, though. My twins were 14 months old when Emily was born.
The first 6 weeks were SO hard, but it's been downhill since then. You have to be flexible, expect chaos and just insist on having FUN!
