How do you get your son to "fit" on the potty (if you know what I mean!)

My 25 month old is really interested in his potty....but when I got him on the potty without his diaper he did not fit.  We had to push down his "you-know-what!"  Is that normal?The guard thingy on the potty is getting in the way of getting his pee-pee in there!  Any advice.

Same thing happened with us, he has to push his pee-pee down.

we took off the splash guard at taught him to "point his pee pee down"

Mine learned standing up. Then when he got used to going "poopoo" on the potty, whenever he goes to sit down we still remind him to "push his peepee down" otherwise he still can forget and go on the floor.

Our potty has a soft ring with formed pee blocker, we just flipped it upside down and it works great!
