2nd Trimester

scare this morning (kinda long & tmi)

i woke up this morning and got ready for work and felt fine but well i was packing my lunch i started to feel light headed and clammy so i layed down and dh got me some oj to see if that would help but then i suddenly got extreme pressure just below the uterus and started to worry. I went to the bathroom just thinking maybe i had to poo but it didn't make it any better.

being the trooper i am i headed out the door for work and made it 2 miles down to road and had to come back because the pressure was so bad i was in tears and thought i was going to throw up. I came home and called the dr & moved my 3pm appt to 930 because it was unbearable.

Thankfully everything with the baby is ok. We heard the hb & it was strong. Also she checked my cervix and that was good so she told me to rest until my 2:15 Ultrasound and hopefully the pain would go away.

The dr thought it could have been that i was constipated and it finally was being released since i went 4 or 5 times in an hr but i am just happy some tylenol and a heated wash clothed made the pain go away because i was scared.

Has anyone else had something similar happen?

  • this sounds similar to what I experience when I haven't had enough water..HOWEVER, I dont experience pain, so I think you definitely did the right thing by calling the doctor.

  • I had cramping and pressure in my back around 16 weeks for about 24 hrs. It was like severe period cramps but worse. I called the doctor and they told me to rest and drink lots of water. I was embarassed when the next day I had a big trip to the bathroom and felt much better. I never knew constipation could cause that much pain, in fact I didn't even realize I was constipated. I think it was also some RLP too. I hope all goes well at the u/s. G/L
  • Never had that happen to me, but that sounds scary!!  Glad to hear you are feeling better though.
