My dad went to the dr today about a bad rather large spot on his back (that has appeared rather quickly). The doctor has scheduled for him to come back 1st thing Wed to have it removed. The doctor said that if he was going to be blunt that it looked like melanoma...please keep him in your thoughts and prayers and hope that it hasnt spread anywhere.

Thanks girls!! It just worries me b/c I am SUCH a daddy's girl! We noticed it on his back when we were in the pool while in Charleston and freaked out!

He called to tell me about it last night and I had flash backs to 5 years ago when he told me about how he would have to have emergency open heart surgery (6 bypasses). Hopefully things will go well w/ this like it did for him then.

He (and you!) will be in my prayers.  My little sister had a melanoma removed several years ago.  They caught it really early and she hasn't had any problems with it since.  I hope the case is the same (or better) for your dad!
