I am finally telling one of my bosses tomorrow about the baby but I am really nervous. She thinks women who have babies lose their minds and ability to work well. I filled in for my other boss while she was on maternity leave and she was a disaster. She was very unorganized, screwed important taks up, had no plan, no home office and took an extra month of leave at the last minute. Nowback at work she is still not doing her work. The good news is, I have filled in for three women on leave in my career and I have a plan and a home office. I am just nervous because it will not be good news since she left a bad taste in everyone's mouth about it.
I hope other women reading this remember to do your best to meet the expectations set for your leave to the best of your ability so that the women coming after you may have an easier time breaking baby news as GOOD NEWS! This whole working mom thing is hard and still not well respected.
Wish me luck - I have big utterflies in my belly!
