Bed rest & baby showers... how did you do it?

My mom is throwing me a baby shower next weekend and although I am on bed rest, I plan on sitting up with my feet elevated for the time at the shower. I'm going to double check with my Dr. this week at my appt. to see if he has a problem with it. Hopefully he will think it is ok, if not...I will lay down the whole time. What did you ladies do at your shower..those who were on bed rest?

I sat up (with the dr's okay) but my mom offered to get me a chaise lounge. I thought it was a great idea.

I went and sat. I did open presents but they were put in my lap.

I am on modified bed rest, so I can do a little more.  I overdid it though and spent all Monday in a funk.  Anyway, I confiscated the lazyboy chair at my stepdad's, which was where the shower was.  I leaned back and had fun.  Things were brought to me.  Everyone knew what was going on, so no one cared.
