Should I register for the same item from 2 different stores??

I know some people do, but I'm gonna say no on this one. Because if someone buys if for you from one store, it doesn't show as 'fulfilled' on your registry at a different store and you may end up with duplicate items. And the hassle of returning things is not worth it IMO. I only registered at one place, and found that most people didn't even shop off my registry anyway.

Depends on the item- is it something you want more than one of? If not then I wouldn't- it sounds like it would be a nightmare to keep track of.

I did register for the same thing on both registeries for several of my 'big' items.  My ILs are strict Target-only shoppers, and my family tends to prefer Wal-Mart, so I made sure that they both had the same opportunity to see what we liked.  I'm trying to keep up with the registeries to avoid getting both, but if it happens, I'll just return one and get something that I still need.  Totally worth it to make the families happy, IMO.

We didn't.  For simplicity's sake, I only "officially" registered at one store (BRU).  I didn't want to have to register for a wide "selection" at mulitple stores for people to have things to choose from, and then try to keep track of it all, deal with returns, etc.  I guess you could say I chose convenience for myself over convenience for the shower guests, but no one seemed to mind. ::shrugs::  A few people gave us money/gift cards to other places instead of going to BRU, which was great as well.

There were a few things I wanted that BRU didn't carry, so we also registered at Target, but just told a few people (my mom, MIL, etc.)
