Holy Back Pain Batman!

I can't remember ever having back pain that nearly put me in tears the way I have today. My job has me sitting at my desk all day. I have swapped chair to something with a little more support (hard to find around our office), walk around about every hour, and proping my feet up. I just can't get it to go away. It is about a hand's width above the small of my back and only on the right side. All I can think is, if it is this bad already, what am I going to do the rest of these 6 months? Anyone got any tricks to help ease the preasure?

Thanks ladies!

Re: Holy Back Pain Batman!

  • I have heard of a tennis ball being placed on the sore area between your back and the chair and that helps with pin-pointed pain.

  • ice packs work for me
  • I had the same thing happen around 14-15 weeks, and it's still here. Hasn't gone away. It hurts to sit, lay, stand, walk. And nothing I do seems to help ease the pain. NOTHING.

My doc said I could take Tylenol to help but I'm allergic to acetaminophin. So no Tylenol for me!

  • My hubby gives me a massage which helps a bit. I've noticed that I have super bad lower back pain early in the morning, which wakes me up, and just getting out of bed and bending over and stretching helps.
  • If it is up to Tyenolm I might as well be eating Sweet-Tarts. They do nothing for me.

I will have to get a tennis ball for tomorrow.  It hurts so bad, I may have to go home. We are really slow at work, so I don't think anyone will miss me.

  • I've been in physical therapy since 14 weeks.  Same thing...about hands width.  My PT guy says it is b/c I'm imbalanced (one of my legs is longer) and so I do some exercising and stretches with a pregnancy ball and a few other things. I recommend seeing someone (referred by doc) if it continues.  It does NOT get better - just helps to work it out at home in your spare time.  And, relieves the pain for a few days.
  • Thanks for the tip!
  • Might be kidney pain. I've been dealing with bad pain on my right side since about 20 weeks or so. Nothing helps it.

If it continues or gets worse, call your doctor. Mine has been so bad they're sending me to a urologist tomorrow Sad
