to feel the baby up in my ribs? it scares me to think he could really be that big soon!

Actually with the way you are carrying him possibly never.  I am carrying low and he has only given my 1 rib kick.  I feel so blessed that he isn't high, but I know my hips will eventually start getting sore since he is chilling by them.

If you're carrying high you probably will feel the baby in your ribs.  I literally have a good 4 inches from my boobs to the top of my bump so he is sitting really low on me!

It depends entirely on your body and how you are carrying.  I have a short torso so I have no doubt that the babe will be hitting the ribs at some point.
