So last Halloween we had a huge storm and part of my neighbor's huge tree cracked and some limbs are hanging in my yard. We spoke to him the next day and he was asking who we used (we had just had some tree removed from our yard and told him who we used).
2 months ago I saw my neighbor again and she said that the tree was gonna be removed in a month. I told them that was great since we are getting a fence put in and we can't start the work until the tree is out of our yard.
Still to this day it has not been removed. It's been 8-9 months since it fell. We are calling fence places today in hopes to have a fence installed within the month.
How do I comfort my neighbor about having it removed without looking like a b!tch?
TIA
Re: Neighbor situation - NBR
I would probably just go up to her and say something along the lines of "hey, just wanted to let you know that we're planning on putting up our fence in 2 weeks. The fence people came by and told us that the tree would need to be removed before they can install the fence. How soon do you think you can get someone out here to take care of the tree?" and see what she says.
Another option, is to call the guy you used, and ask him how much it would be to remove the tree. When you tell your neighbor, you can mention that you talked to the tree guy and he said it would be $X.XX
The tree is too high up and too big for DH to even consider doing it himself. It just blows that I have to ask them to do it. I would be embarrassed it my tree fell in their yard and I never took care of it.
