I didn't really suffer from headchaes in my 1st trimester, but the last 2 weeks have been unbearable. I have tried eating more, sleeping more, laying down, etc. Nothing seems to help. The doctor told me to take extra strength tylenol. That rarely touches the pain. They also gave me a prescription, but I am afraid to take it. I am one of those types that if I read that the side effects and nasuea, dizziness, etc, I get all of the. Borderline hypochondriac! My blookd pressure went from 110/60 to 130/90. Think that could do it? The doctor did not seam to worried about it. Anyone else in this boat?
Re: Never Ending Headaches
I'm with you - I was prescribed fioricet which worked great at first (i get migraines - full blown migraines) and tylenol didn't work for me either.
The thing is... the medication ONLY works if you take it at the first sign of the headache (before it reaches migraine level). Otherwise... no cigar :-(
Which presecription did you get? Good lcuk!
Headaches are SUPER comon in 2nd tri, which is why your OB wasn't worried. Drink caffiene with that tylenol!! My OB told me to try that first before moving on to prescription drugs. I find it more effective if I drink the caffiene before I get the headache - because I tend to get them every afternoon I can sometimes prevent them completely by drinking caffiene after lunch (like 1 can of coke).
130/90 should not be enough to induce headaches, though really high BP can cause headaches, that's just not that high. It is high enough to be a little worried about though and definitely keep close tabs on your BP. If you start to feel weird, have more/worse headaches, funny vision, check your BP immediately!! Even if you just go to the machine at the drugstore or grocery store and call your OB if it's even higher.
