I feel like I'm swamped with information here. DH and I haven't registered for either of these things yet because we have no clue where to start! So I was wondering: What car seat/stroller combo did you register for, and what were your priorities when you registered? We're looking for something versatile (I like to go walking) but not clunky, maybe with room for a diaper bag in the bottom somewhere. Any of your ideas or suggestions would be great! Thanks, wonderful ladies!
Re: Stroller and Car seats...
Like PP, we went with the Chicco KeyFit 30 (we got it in the Romantic - gray and black) and the Bumbleride Flyer in Seagrass (spring green and a sort of bright blue). We liked the KeyFit 30 b/c of the safety ratings. On the Flyer, we picked it b/c it is bulky, easy to use, folder SUPER easy and seems verstaile. Also, the Flyer is made to accomodate the KeyFit 30 as well as several other carseats.
We also got the chicco cortina keyfit 30. Ours is in "cubes" pattern. We went to the store, played with many, folded, unfolded, lifted it, etc. It seemed to be the most user friendly for us.
I'm also in the land of suburbia so it won't be baby's main source of transportation... good for mall, trips around the block, etc.
We went with the Graco Snugride 32. It has great safety ratings, is a little bit lighter than the Chico, and was the top pick in Baby Bargains. I really liked the Chico, however when it came to picking a stroller, it is not compatible with most strollers out there.
I got a Baby Jogger City Mini. I picked this one because of it's weight. It's only 15lbs. We live on the 3rd floor so that was really important. It's also not bulky at all. It's compatable with the Snugride, so we shouldn't need to buy any additional strollers, because it can act like an umbrella stroller. The price was also great. It got an A in Baby Bargains.
We also got this one...I was surprised how easy the carseat was to latch in and out of the base and stroller! We also got the Quinny jogger (on HUGE sale) for walks/jogs around the neighborhood and whatever else. We don't have an infant attachment for it though so he will have to wait a bit to get into it.

We registered from the Baby Jogger City Mini and the Graco Snugride. The City Mini has an infant car seat adapter bar. We didn't want a big clunky travel system, and we needed something rugged that could handle the uneven roads up here in the country.
And you can't beat the super easy fold of the City Mini!
If you walk a lot, you may want to look into the Baby Trend jogging stroller/carseat combo if you want a system. We got the Graco Vienna (not sure if they make it anymore, it was three years ago) and a Graco snugride and I love it. I don't like the Graco Quattro Tour because it was heavier and barely fit in our trunk, plus the carseat was heavier than the snugride, but I love graco's products.
Here's a link to the baby trend. I'm sure there are other jogging strollers you can get and they'll fit with other seats, but here is a matching system I found on BRU.
