Do you have maternity panties?

I need new undies and I was wondering if I should be buying maternity ones? My old ones still fit (for now), I just need more. Will I eventually need maternity panties or will I be able to wear regular ones my entire pregnancy?

I currenty wear VS or Gap bikini style. What brand do you suggest?

Re: Do you have maternity panties?

  • I used to wear what's called modern briefs...or midrise.  They started to get uncomfy for me around 12 weeks.  I went out and bought bikinis so the band would be under my belly.  It's much more comfortable.  Except now I need to go buy a size 9 b/c my butt's getting too big for my size 8s.  lol

  • I'm still wearing my normal underwear just letting it ride a little lower to accomodate the belly.  I wear thong so I can't imagine switching to something else but DH swears I'm going to be uncomfortable eventually.

  • I'm in the same spot. i usually wear French Cut but they are starting to dig in to me around my bikini line.

Thanks for asking the question. I have heard a couple of women recommend bikini. I think I am going to buy a six pack of Hanes bikini and see what happens.

  • I switched to bikinis in my regular size a few weeks ago and they're really comfy and fit great right under my belly.  I haven't gained anywhere but my belly though.  My best friend had to buy one size up in bikinis to accommodate for her expanding bum and hips but was still fine in regular panties.

If you're one of the lucky ones who gets hemis you'll most likely want to switch to bikinis, that's what made me finally switch and it is so much better!

  • I definitely need to go and buy some new panties. ?I feel like mine are getting a little snug. :(

  • I've just bought Hanes bikini 1-2 sizes up from my pre-pregnancy size.  They are actually quite comfy and don't ride up.
  • I bought maternity bikini underwear.  Love them!

  • The Hanky Panky thongs (non maternity) are amazing..... and VS has some that are "invisible" but have a really wide waist that are so comfortable as well!  Finally, I have found that the maternity spanx (shorts) are absolutely the best thing ever (I have to dress up quite a bit for work and they make wearing dresses / skirt suits all the more comfortable).

  • I haven't tried the maternity panties and read they are a waste of money. I just bought my regular "hipsters" a size up. So far so good.

  • I still wear the VS cotton bikini underwear. I just recently went up a size so that they were a bit more comfy. They should last me the entire time though because they are a little big on me. I find them very comfy since they sit under the belly. I have a hard time having anything on my belly including the secret fit band on jeans.

  • I wear jockey bikini. I do not buy maturnity underwear.
  • i've never had to buy maternity undies. i think they are just a rip off.
  • I wear Hanky Panky lace thongs. They fit great.

A woman in Mimi Maternity last go round told me maternity underwear are just an expensive gimmic. I bought VS v-strings last time in the next size up. They worked great.

  • I went up one size in my hanes bikini's but my RL got bigger and so did my legs so I got some Maternity undies.  I hope that in another week or two me waist will be big enough for me to go up one more side in Hanes.  Maternity ones aren't cheap and also for me they don't fit as well.
  • I bought a 3 pack of bikinis from motherhood and now I am hooked! They are so comfortable and cut just right!
  • I did buy granie panty maternity undies and I LOVE THEM. I like the coverage and the little bit of extra support they give my belly. Some of the ladies have mentioned that they make them feel unattractive or not sexy. I am all for comfort and my DH thinks I am hot no matter what!
  • I wore regular panties the entire time I was pregnant with DS.  I think it just depends.  Of course I got roomier panties, but they weren't maternity.
  • I didnt buy mat underwear.

I just started wearing my boyshort or hipster cut ones all the time. They are pretty stretchy so I think I will be good. If I have to buy a new pack Im just going to buy one size up in a basic bikini

  • Bought Motherhood maternity bikini panties. Not good - totally ride up my butt.

Otherwise still getting by with my regular stuff which is a mix of bikins and thongs.

  • I only wear thongs, but I am definitely going to make the switch to some regular hipsters or bikinis soooon. Sorry Hubby!
