Needed something sweet pronto and found this recipe. Been posted before, but it's been a while, and it's worth a re-post from time-to-time. It usually saves me a trip to the corner store when I get a sugar craving.
1 Coffee Mug
4 tablespoons flour(that's plain flour, not self-rising)
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons baking cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
Nuts (optional)
Small splash of vanilla
Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly.
Pour in the milk and oil and mix well. Add the chocolate chips (if using) and
vanilla, and mix again. Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes on
high**. The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed! Allow
to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired. EAT!
(this can serve 2 if you want to share!)
**Note: I had to cook it for 4 minutes, and we have a pretty powerful microwave,
so I'd imagine depending on wattage, you may have to cook it for 4-6 minutes.
Re: 5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE
I tried this over the weekend and it was NOT good! All the chocolate chips sank to the bottom and made a mess and the top was so solid and dry that it couldn't be eaten! It's a great concept and would be lovely if it worked but for me, not so much!
Thank you though, even if it wasn't that great, every now and then you just have to have chocolate so I may try it again!
