2nd Trimester

Did you have a pap smear or any internal exam at your 20 week appt?

My mom wants to come for the "big" ultrasound. I really want her to come but just want to be sure there isn't any internal exam at this appointment.

  • nope, after the U/S, I met with the Dr. briefly and she measured my belly. That was it.

  • We just had an ultrasound with a tech, met with the doctor for a few, had my vitals done and left. No pap or internal.
  • Not during mine.  Mom would love it.

  • Our u/s was done at the hospital w/ a tech and then I had my OB appt today. No funny business at either.

  • I had my anual pap smear at my 22 week appointment, but only because I was due for one.
  • Nope, I did not. I had one my very first appointment at 6 weeks.
  • I only had one at my 10wk appointment.  I would call the doctor's office just to make sure, but I doubt you will have one.

  • Unless you're due for your annual you shouldn't have one. If you do, maybe mom could just step out for that part?? My mom is coming to my big u/s also!

  • I never saw the doctor, just the u/s tech.  I'd expect that they're used to extra visitors for the u/s appointment, so if they did want to do an exam, they'd provide an opportunity for your guests to leave.  If it's a special appt. for the u/s (and not a regular check up), I don't see any reason they'd do anything but the u/s.
***************************** Our beautiful daughter was born in October 2009. Turns out she was quite the miracle. After two years of TTC, diagnosed with DOR. A couple of failed treatment cycles later, we decided to let go of our hope for more biological children and explore adoption.
  • No, just routine evaluation and the ultrasound.

  • Nope just went over the ultrasound results.
  • After the main ultrasound, i had to do a transvaginal as well to check the placenta placement b/c it was too low to tell on the main u/s....
  • No.  Internals are at the end, at least they are for me.
